Tillykke! PS: Alliker kan også noget..! The sky on fire (Landscapes) 2019-12-24 Nevado de Colima, Jalisco, Mexico An intense fire-like glove filled the sky this afternoon. As a mirror reflecting the real fires that often lid up the sky in the dry season. Forest fires. Mostly sparked with intention by scrupulous farmers wanting to have a bigger piece of the pie than what a balanced nature can handle. |

The Goddess Tzapotlatena (People) 2018-07-08 Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, Mexico The Goddess Tzapotlatena. As a symbol of the immensely big role the corn plant has always played to the indigenous and present people of this region, she represents the power that make the plant grow and by providing food to the people, to make societies grow and prosper. She is also the Goddess of curation and birth. According to the legends she invented a solution based on resin from pine trees, which was used to treated various diseases. Obviously she caught my eyes first of all because of her beautifully protruding breasts. And practically being the first human construction you see when you arrive in Ciudad Guzmán |

Mark and Lori at the bat cave (People) 2013-11-28 Bat cave, Calakmul, Cam, Mexico Mark and Lori waiting for the bats to come out. The entrance to the cave was at the bottom of a 50 meters deep dry cenote. When they came out, they started flying around inside the cenote, but later when they should be counted in their thousands, they started to move out and up and flew around silently between the trees and us.It is estimated that more than 2 million bats live in the cave, perhaps up till 6-7 millions. 9 different species have been identified until now. The cave stretches at least some 700 meters under ground, and contains permanent water basins where fish and other animals live. Fascinating. Yucat |

Parque Ecológio La Campana (Landscapes) 2012-05-22 Parque Ecológico La Campana, Colima, Col, Mexico 1 - A characterless scrubland but home to many birds, especially during the winter months. 2 - Water tank. 3 - Someone is using the area to feed his cows and horses. A practice that will continue after the park becomes official? 4 - The water flows well from the tank. 5 - It doesn't look much but this green patch and the surroundings below the water tank has proven very good for buntings and sparrows. 6 - Below the water tank. 7 - Dry seed pod from the Guamuchil tree which is very common in the area and very popular among the birds. 8 - The nature type is dry thorn forest! 9 - A young Parota, Elephant-ear, Here with two broken branches which is a problem. The local people are collecting firewood in the area with the result that many smaller tree have already been cut down. It is therefore important to adquire the area soon before more damage is done. 10 - La Campana is the name of the ruins lying at the edge of the area, and as you can percibe there are ruins inside the area that have still not been excavated. What will be the future of these ruins when the area will become a natural park? 11 - Beautiful tree! 12 - Here in May before the rain sets in the vegetation is very dry 13 - Cattle fence as you see them in Mexico. Here with a very narrow opening making it a problem for large people to join the party. 14 - A flame colored jewel among dry spring ruins. Name? |

Through the mangrove (Landscapes) 2012-05-19 Estero Palo Verde - Tortugario, Cuyutlán, Colima (col), Mexico Mangrove scenario. The boardwalk through the mangrove leading to the observation spot. At this place the white mangrove is more common than the red which has the classic mangrove roots. The white looks more like normal trees with one solid trunk, and that is because it normally lives at a higher elevation than the other types of mangrove, and therefore do not need to protect itself from salt water and tidal flooding. |
