Refshaleøen, Denmark
First calendar year Male Found by Stig Toft Madsen yesterday. At first not found today but 1030 it showed up in a new location, near the open space in front of the the old B&W administration building. It was seen both in trees and on the ground. I heard a single call when it took off at one time. Fieldfare-like but more raspy. It later toured around in the neighborhood, flying to Nyholm toward the harbor and later in the afternoon to the northern tip of Refshaleøen, at Lynetten-west on William Wains gade. From here it was seen flying south again as the latest. Probably present tomorrow again, since the weather will be the same. Overcast, with No-light wind from NØ and temps around 0+ C.
A molt limit in the wing indicates a young individual and the strong colors a male. I still have no camera, why these poor photos are handheld bino/mobile shots. |

Refshaleøen, Denmark
Second calendar year Male Nyholm. Still here at the military facilities, even though it disappeared for a good week, and was thought to have died or simply moved on as the weather started to prepare for spring. Here with Fieldfare on the sports lawn.
