Endemic status
Comment 2026-09-26: A former synonym of P. tenera (Say, 1840), mooma has been (re)assigned to species level. Both are now present in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and perhaps USA. They are supposed to be sympatric in NE Mexico and the Yucatan peninsula. However, the map in the article (Sep 2026) in question is not very precise, why I decide to keep tenera present in all states known until now, and add mooma to the states along the Mexican Gulf and Quintana Roo, Oaxaca and Chiapas, this both supported by the article and the field notes of Dennis Paulson. This adds a new species to the Mexican list.
