Subspecies
Distribution 0-350 masl. C Mexico south through C and S America to Colombia and Venezuela. This probably based on Ellenrieder (2012). iNaturalist has a rather convincing record with photo from SE Brazil 2023, and being in the Brazilian list presented by Odonato Odonato do Brazil, why it is reasonable to expect that the true distribution of the species has always been wider or is simply increasing.
