Bog along the highway, Rønne - Svaneke. Apparently manmade during WWII, as a labor project to keep Danish prisoners from being deported to the German concentration camps.
INTERESTS:
Dragonflies. More than 20 species have been found here, and especially Common Winter Damsel [Vintervandnymfe] and Small Spreadwing [Lille Kobbervandnymfe] are important Danish species found here (as well as in the adjacent Bastemosen just south of here). There used to be [or still are?] leeches [Horse-leech, Heste-igle] in the bog (igle = leech).
ACCESS (free 24/7):
On foot. Parking along the highway or at the nearby parking lot, P on the map, which is where to park when visiting Bastemosen.
