Description:
Public park and sports facilities. Used to be a trotting track, Amager Travbane, back in the 70'íes. Now soccer, rugby, dog walking, jogging and if possible, toboggan run in winter. Adjacent to the Nursing Home two larger rain reservoirs have recently been created, plus a smaller pond next to, but isolated from these. All hold permanent water, but ducks visiting during the winter months provoke raised nutrient levels polluting the water. In the beginning there were no fish in the reservoirs, but now there is, and it appears to have affected the quality of the site for dragonflies negatively in general, along with overgrowth. Sedges [Siv], Club-Rushes [kogleaks] and Lilies [Liljer] have started to occupy the banks and in summer, or late spring even, the water is filled with fast-growning algae.
INTERESTS:
Birds:
Gulls and corvids often roost and forage on the soccer fields. Some years ago a bunch of Long-eared Owls [Skovhornugle] were wintering a few seasons in the pines along the northern edge. Short-toed Treecreeper [Korttået Træløber] is also here now. And in October 2020 I saw a late Greenish Warbler [Lundsanger] in the birches along the western edge.
Dragonflies:
The newly created rain water basins plus the small extra water hole in front of the resting home have been good for pioneer dragonflies. 20 species have been seen so far.

At the end of 2024 the small water hole is starting to overgrow, why the value as a dragonfly breeding site is at risk, if the municipality doens't act on it.
