Description:
Public park and sports facilities. Used to be a trotting track, Amager Travbane, back in the 70'íes. Now soccer, rugby, dog walking, jogging and if possible, toboggan run in winter.
INTERESTS:
The newly created rain water basins plus the small extra water hole in front of the resting home have been good for pioneer dragonflies. Since 2023 I've seen 17 different species:
Robust Spreadwing (Lestes dryas) - not breeding
Common Spreadwing (Lestes sponsa) - breeding?
Azure Bluet (Coenagrion puella) - breeding
Common Bluet (Enallagma cyathigerum) - breeding
Small Redeye (Erythromma viridulum) - breeding
Common Bluetail (Ischnura elegans) - breeding
Small Bluetail (Ischnura pumilio) - breeding
Blue Hawker (Aeshna cyanea) - breeding
Migrant Hawker (Aeshna mixta) - breeding?
Blue Emperor (Anax emperator) - breeding
Blue Chaser (Libellula depressa) - breeding
Four-spotted Chaser (Libellula quadrimaculata) - breeding?
Black-tailed Skimmer (Orthetrum cancellatum) - breeding
Black Darter (Sympetrum danae) - not breeding (but copulations seen)
Ruddy Darter (Sympetrum sanguineum) - breeding
Common Darter (Sympetrum striolatum) - breeding
Moustached Darter (Sympetrum vulgatum) - breeding
At the end of 2024 the small water hole is starting to overgrow, why the value as a dragonfly breeding site is at risk, if the municipality doens't act on it.
