The forest and the river, Susåen, adjacent to Herlufsholm Boarding School and the northern part of Næstved. The forest is mature deciduous and the river one of the largest on Sjælland, and along this stretch having a sandy bottom and a steady flow of water toward the south. The banks are well vegetated and the whole area in general is very park like. Canoers travel the river frequently in the season.
INTERESTS:
Especially known among odies [guldsmedefolk] for a healthy population of Common Clubtail (Gomphus vulgatissimus) [Almindelig Flodguldsmed] and Blue Chaser (Libellula fulva) [Spidsplettet Libel]. Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens) [Blåbåndet Pragtvandnymfe] can be seen as well. The best place to find them is from around the bridge crossing the river and 100 meters toward the south along the western shore.

You can access from Næstved using various paths through the forest or along the river. Or park at Herlufsholm Church north of the boarding school and walk from there.
