Status: In Europe, outside the breeding area in C and E, the species is a true rarity, and is not to be expected in those parts. Except that it probably is showing a tendency to expand toward the north and the west. Much more common in the eastern part of the distribution range. In the Nordic countries there have been 1 observation in Denmark, in 1998 on Langeland. And in Sweden, near Jönköping, in the years 2011-2012 a small population (~50) surprisingly was found, with origin unknown. They were all gone in 2013 where the locality was drained for agricultural purpose. In 2025 there was one record on the Polish coast not that far from Bornholm.
