2018-08-20 La Condesa (mi casa en Cd Guzmán), Mexico Subspecies: ellioti Very likely the same as 2740, since I've only noticed one Violet-crowned come to my feeder. As always it is remarkable how different a hummingbird can look depending on the angle and the light. Truly one of the most fascinating bird groups to exist. Coto La Condesa |

2018-08-24 La Condesa (mi casa en Cd Guzmán), Mexico Subspecies: ellioti Adult bird in fresh plumage. This bird was the first hummingbird that came to my feeder, why it has a special place in my heart. It continues to come even though it now has competition from the 3 different male Broad-billed Hummingbirds. But they all only stay briefly, why I don't think there'll ever be problems between them.
