Krebseklo-vandhullet The host plant for the dragonfly Green Hawker (Aeshna viridis) [Grøn Mosaikguldsmed]. Added note: I'm not sure the plants in photo 2 are of the species, but could rather be Sweet Flag (Acorus calamus) [Kalmus] which does not show thorny edges to the leaves. |

Krebseklo-vandhullet. Ok, I took similar photos two years ago, but then you know: They are still here. The preferred plant for egg-incision of the Green Hawker (Aeshna viridis) [Grøn Mosaikguldsmed], but you can't just assume that all larger exuvias (the skin left behind by the emerging dragonfly) found on the plant are of the this species since other hawkers use them too, for example Migrant Hawker (Aeshna mixta) [Efterårsmosaikguldsmed] and Blue Hawker (Aeshna cyanea) [Blå Mosaikguldsmed]. The plant seems to be spreading, helped on its way by increasing horticultural activities. There is a pond in the nearby cemetery too where both Water Soldiers and the Green Hawker are present. |
