Smoky-brown Woodpecker (Dryobates fumigatus sanguinolentus) Brun Spætte ~ Carpintero Café 2019-06-27 Volcán Nevado de Colima, Mexico
Adult female without red markings on the head. Not a species you see every time on the volcano, actually only my second observation. Notice the very worn tail, almost lost the ability to support the bird when climbing up trunks and branches. Aptly named species, as featureless as it is. |
