Pomarine Jaeger 2713    (6 photos)

Adult pale bird entering complete alternate plumage. Unstreaked underwing and undertail support this, as well as the long club-shaped tail and well-marked black cap. Some 5 birds were seen this day, and the only jaeger species.

2cy bird. However, not sure whether photo 1 and 2 show the same bird as on the rest of the photos. But overall they look alike. Strong bill and beige-golden look is well-known for the species at this age.

Adult pale bird. Other than 2713, which the pure white collars clearly shows. Interesting to see how small the black cap looks like on this bird, unusual for the species, but it is probably caused by the very angled view from behind.

Probably adult dark bird without tail clubs, based on the adult looking underwing.

Second calendar year. 2cy type. With the bright whitish upper rump I guess it has to be a young bird. The underwing also looks to be thoroughly streaked as it should be on a young bird.
