Escapee. A parrot of the Pionus genus. By checking online photos and literature I feel inclined toward Scaly-headed Parrot (Pionus maximiliani), because of the bill and the general greenish plumage without much blue (Blue-headed Parrot apparently very popular as a cage bird). But not sure if domestication occurs among birds bred in captivity, so I leave it as a Pionus. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO TONY JUNIPER FOR DIRECTING ME TOWARD THE RIGHT GENUS! |
