Subspecies: [monotypic] Even though it looks drab and anonymous, it is rather distinctive with the strong yellowish bill, the robust build and delicate streaking on the breast. Doesn't have white along the outer tail feather. A scratchy delicate song trill is very characteristic, and heard commonly in this part of the country. |

Subspecies: [monotypic] Sitting like this, perhaps difficult to separate from House Sparrow, which was also present. But the bill is longer and a few flank and chest streaks can be seen despite of the puffed-up plumage. |
