Subspecies: ??? Apparently subspecies confinis. Even if shot in the afternoon, this bird appeared extremely marked, and at first I had difficulties putting name on it. The method of exclusion finally gave the answer, but it still remains a fact that Vesper Sparrow not always is as uniform in appearance as the literature indicates. |

Subspecies: confinis The broad white eyering, the striped breast and the general creamy color tells who this is. Savannah Sparrow being the closest in resemblance is smaller with smaller bill and a general darker and dirty appearance as well as yellow front part of the eyebrow. At least here in Ags. |
