Subspecies: fusca Male singing. Normally this species move about low above the ground, but during breeding season it prefers high singing posts. Probably to reach farther out with it's rather anonymous song, a 4-strophed trill, which otherwise easily can disappear between the others - especially if Bewick's Wren also begins. |

Subspecies: fusca It looks a bit worn, why I guess it is an adult. A few visit my patio regularly to clean it for insects, but most often they only land on the wall before jumping into the patio of my neighbor, which is merely a dirt whole in the ground without vegetation nor any kind of solid surface. Surely many more insects to be found there. Coto La Condesa |

Subspecies: fusca A very mottled and worn bird. Think the scaly breast pattern is caused by lifted feathers created by shadow. Perhaps the other of the two birds that normally come here, compared to 2734 and 2734. Coto La Condesa |

Subspecies: likely fusca Uniform presentation when beyond juvenile state. And only Melozone towhee in area, but could be confused with not so far away White-throated Towhee when seen from this angle. |
