Subspecies: rosea Adult male. The pale red-wine plumage with the red crown is characteristic for the species, even though the birds in this part of the country apparently appear paler than birds further south. And they also seem to constantly elude me, not singing or calling as birds further south. Is this true or not? Still need to investigate. |
