2019-03-26 Rancho Primavera (El Tuito - jal), Mexico
Young bird without any chestnut on the flank. The spots on the back in picture 2 may indicate a male. A rather anonymous bird, but once you get on to it's details it is unique with the broad wing bars, the cocked tail with white undertail reaching the tip with black laterally and clearly warbler shaped compared to the vireos of the region that might superficially look similar. Spotted by Aziza Cooper. New for me in Jalisco. Rare |
