Looking carefully you'll realize that both the black Ibises are present in this photo. The two in front are White-faced Ibises and the last three are Glossy Ibis. Apparently WI has a brighter and more slender bill than GI. And the back coloration of WI is more colorful and iridescent than the back of GI showing a back with a more drab and greenish look. This part of Mexico is normally known for GI, but during the later years WI has expanded its range toward east. |
