Different birds. Sex and age the same. Unmistakable in Mexico when seen flying like this. As often is the case with moderately forked tails, it appears straight-ended when it is spread out completely. Also note the very broad white fringe to the tertials. I've not been able to find any photos on ebird showing anything similar, most birds just having a very narrow white fringe. It's probably just a natural variation, otherwise, if age-related for example, there should be more birds showing this detail. |

Distinctive swallow with dark glossy back, thin white line in front of the eye and large conspicuous white rump, unique in Mexico in coastal areas. In these photos the bird looks rather elongated which is normally not my impression of the bird, normally appearing more compact when perched. |
