Subspecies: formosa Aberrant type with broad black collar which looks like a hybrid with Black-throated Magpie-Jay (Calocitta colliei), but apparently is not? Or can this appearance be age related, young birds with dark face, as Howell suggests. See 654 for a normal looking individual. Aberrant |

Subspecies: formosa Looks a bit dirty on the throat, but is probably caused by the plant in the foreground. Otherwise looks like a clean bird - in relation to hybrid with Black-throated. |
