2009-06-19 Parque Héroes (Aguascalientes), Mexico
Subspecies: satrapa Adult. First observation of Tropical Kingbird in the state of Aguascalientes I made back in 2006 in parque El Cedazo, also here in Aguascalientes city. Since then I have recorded it here in the park with several pairs and north of town as well. It is separated from Cassin's Kingbird by whiter throat, strong breast color and longer tail without the white terminal band. But the voice is the best way to recognize it, where TK has a trill and CK a strong call: tjibiu. First |

2017-10-01 Municipio de Tequila (jal), Mexico
Subspecies: satrapa Near the village. Adult with growing tail feathers. A rather special leucistic individual, and the white nape and the pale lower mandible almost gives it the appearance of a completely different species. A normal colored bird was also present, but not sure if they were a pair (or if pairs stay together until October at all). Aberrant |
