Adult. Endemic. This one was surprised in a depression with its friends. The only useful shot. My sneaking technique is not good enough. Or: I haven't learned to accept the pain by crawling through stones and spiny vegetation. Endemic |

Adult. Endemic. The young birds have black in head. The white belly patch only visible from in front, as here. Rather common. Endemic |

Adults. Endemic. Groups of about 20 individuals are not uncommon. But they are rather sensitive, and do not accept photos just like that. The picture was taken at 30 meters distance, and by only the slightest movement they immediately seeked cover. Came out again though, but finally flew off permanently when I had to wave off an approaching Mexican. Endemic |

Endemic. Adult. The bright belly patch apparently is very variable, see 591. Here at its most northern part of its distribution range. Endemic |

Two juvenile birds with the black faces to the right. Number two from the left looks like an intermediate not having quite pale enough face to look like an adult. Perhaps a young bird from a previous brood, guessing that they stay together in families. Some 10 birds were together in this flock. Endemic |
