Subspecies: cyanopygius Endemic. Male with blue in wing and on rump. Not a super photo, but this species tends to stay in the tree tops so one has to be grateful when it approaches like this. Is seen regularly around Colima City as singletons or flock up to 20-30 birds together. Endemic |

Subspecies: cyanopygius 2 birds - a pair? Saw 5 in all. Unmistakable based on color and size. Normally discovered by the voice when they fly rapidly by. If they perch in a tree with leafs they are very difficult to spot. Here an easy case! |
