Adult male. Apparently the first Orioles that arrive prefer the most southwestern corner of Pinseskoven in stead of Kongelunden. At least my impression that more birds during recent years have been discovered here. |

Adult. ♂. Unmistakable and simply beautiful. Long awaited...many years since I've had one in Kongelunden. It came with the change of weather, now blue skies. But still from a nw direction, chilly and suppressing the big flow from the south. This is the time of year to expect them, end May start June. And its funny how I suspect the blackbirds to know that, because when we reach these days, it sounds like they twist their songs slightly in direction of what the oriole sounds like, full rich whistling notes; playing games to confuse us. For the unaware a distant singing blackbird these days could easily be taken for an oriole... |

Snogevej. Likely a male but couldn't get on to it, as it was singing from the dense top birch foliage, and constantly kept the distance as I tried to get closer. An afternoon bird. Also: willow warbler, great spotted woodpecker, airplane. |
