Subspecies: [monotypic] Adult(s) feeding two juveniles at Villehøj. Prey looks like a darter, probably Common Darter (Sympetrum striolatum). The adult clearly more plain and cold grayish brown than the warm colored juveniles. The delicate streaks on the breast of juveniles shown in Fugle i Felten (Mullarney, Svensson and Zetterström) seem to be absent on these individuals. Or maybe it is a feature not showing before they molt into the first winter plumage? |

Adult. ♂. Singing eagerly, I assume it's a male. Found in the narrow reedbed surrounding the military installation, Kongelundsfortet. |
