Pinseskoven. Apparently a male due to the small size. A new butterfly species discovered in Denmark last year, at this very location. Was first identified as a Purple Emperor (Apatura iris). It is smaller than this and of course still very rare. From below it does not show the white pin sticking out from the white band crossing the hindwing which is a characteristic of iris. |
