Sex, Age, Comment | According to Howell it is old birds that have paler streaked head, which this bird has. However, the funny looking worn and brownish tail gives me associations toward a younger bird. It also looks like the right wing has similarly colored brownish remiges. On the other hand it is obvious that where the tail feathers overlap each other, the color seems more natural, which could make one believe that backlit rectrices always would look this brownish. But the remiges are not backlit, why their brownish color must be genuine. Reason for this color? | ||||||||||||
