Adult. ♂. Likely the same bird as 5405 spending the winter here in the neighborhood. Mostly because we don't see many chaffinches in winter around here, but also because both birds have what looks like a fungus decease on the left foot. It is one of the more precautious species/birds coming to the feeder, only hesitantly jumping down on the floor to pick up the spillover from the messy Tree Sparrows, and certainly only when the barrel shaped vacuum-cleaners, also known as Common Wood-pigeons, are not near. |
