Second calendar year. ♀. Kongelundsengen. Two fresh tertials and greater arm coverts suggest that this is a young bird. This bird looks rather pale for the species, or perhaps it is because I normally don't see females this early in the year and the pale feather fringes only have been worn off to a minor degree. At first I thought it might be a Siberian, but the upper tail is conclusive, and over all a Siberian would probably be even paler at this date. |
