Sex, Age, Comment | Adult male. This subspecies looks extremely like Purple Finch which is found in North America, and only reaches Mexico during winter, and only on the Californian peninsula. A local guide I spoke to, identified them consequently as such. I wonder how come this subspecies should be treated as nothing more than that, taking into consideration that subspecies both to the north and south look normal. | ||||||||||||
