Adult male. Unmistakable. Was a gut feeling when I played the sound of this species, and a thrilling sensation when both the male and the female (3059) showed up. It is very likely the first observation on the ranch, but whether it is a regular summer breeder/visitor, or just was there this time because of the unusually dry land everywhere, is a guess only. Would be interesting to go back when the rain starts to see if they stayed to breed... I found them on the ridge behind the main house. The forest up there is practically like a dry thorn forest, their preferred habitat. |
