Sex, Age, Comment | Male. Have registered this bird as this species without doubt, so I'm pretty confident that I got it id'ed in the field (have no further details, nor remember well the obs.). But based on the photo alone, honestly, it might be difficult to argue why it isn't a Black-headed instead of. It even looks like the coverts have a plain-looking surface lacking the cotton-like impression of Gartered. However, I stick with this species, and the comment should merely be read as a warning, again again, about not to be too conclusive when dealing with a single photo that does not show unique characteristics. | ||||||||||||
