Sex, Age, Comment | Adult without a few secondaries. Subspecies most likely the southern wymanni. Unmistakable in area when seen like this. Big, rather dark back, yellowish-pink feet, white skirt (edge of secondaries showing underneath the dark coverts) and strong bill indicate this species. Yellow-footed is darker and has a stronger bill and more clean yellow feet. Kelp Gull, which I've seen here once, is much darker on the back, and has more greenish legs. This gull was the absolutely only one I could find in Manzanillo in these days. Not even a single Laughing or Heermann's could I find. Therefore a scoop to find this bird, also being my first of the species in Colima. | ||||||||||||
