Sex, Age, Comment | Marcelo Brongo helped with the id since I'm still not secure on the jizz and details to a confident degree. The alternatives were: Hammond, Pine(Empidonax affinis) and Dusky (Empidonax oberholseri) because of the narrow bill. Dusky is ruled out because of the long primary projection. Pine, except that it is not seen at this locality, only higher up the volcanoes, is ruled out because the lower mandible is too dark all the way to the base. Normally it is brighter orange but can show dark coloration, but then only the outer part. | ||||||||||||
