Sex, Age, Comment | Adult. In the air the plumage is much more contrasting than on the ground. And here the defensive spikes at the wing bend are very obvious. A feature shown by other vanellus species as well (and jacanas). And as the photos indicate this species is very vocal, not to say noisy, and you hear it constantly when it is present.
