Female type. As with 3241, also from here the same day, this bird is not straight forward to me. The tail seems too long and pale for a Calliope. On the other hand it looks too short for both Rufous/Allen or Broad-tailed but this must be caused by either different wing-tail ratio among juveniles or simply because the rectrices are still growing. The overall buffiness of the bird is then what makes me lean in direction of R-A, but feel free to oppose. |
