First calendar year. First winter bird in complete juvenile plumage. Classic long slender bill, whitish head contrasting with overall brownish body, well-marked tail band, white-tipped tertials and uniformily colored greater coverts. A lone bird in the harbor. In general only few gulls roost here. Probably because of the almost non-existing fishing activity. The citizens of Dragør are no longer rooted in the old traditions of the area. Being modern metropolitans commuting forth and back doing service jobs in the larger Copenhagen area. |
