Sex, Age, Comment | 2cy bird. The amber colored eye belongs to the young bird. The ones of the adult are bright yellow. Reminds a lot of Gray Hawk, but especially the head markings are different on the young birds. Gray Hawk has a more prominent white eyebrow, dark eye stripe and a strong brown malar stripe on white cheek. Has the same bright upper tail coverts as the young Gray Hawk, and can be difficult to separate from this. However, Roadside Hawk is generally a darker brown bird. The species is widespread, but here in Colima is seen far less than Gray Hawk. | ||||||||||||
