Motorvejsbroen. [SIBERIAN] This bird showed up when I was provoking with the alarm call of Plumbeous Vireo (very effective). I first saw the very pale and well-marked eyebrow, giving hope that it was one of the rare species. But then I saw the rest of the bird, and knew that it was probably not. But it still looked different from the usual phylloscopus birds we see on Amager. The brown coloration and the beige colored strong eyebrow indicated this, and I ended up concluding that it was probably a Siberian Chiffchaff. There were other chiffchaffs present and they looked more like they use to. And they called normally. This bird didn't say anything, but when I tried to play the call and song of tristis it responded eagerly by moving fast from one spot to the other. I know you normally have to hear the birds before you can claim a tristis, by I feel confident above this and count it. |
