Adult. ♂. Found it by song in the SV department close to the main east-west road, Collin's Alle. And eagerly so singing, which was a surprise because the species has been difficult to find in Kongelunden this year. However, it happened in the afternoon with good sunlight at around 1730, why I would like to speculate that this species might have a different rhythm, making it more active later in the day. I say this because birds in Copenhagen, for example, have been singing readily for a long time this spring. Best field mark in these photos is the white-edged alula. The primary separation does look like something in between Eurasian and Short-toed, but is probably within the normal range for Short-toed, because I have seen it before with limited space between the three inner visible primary tips. Yes I did play the bird a song to attract it, because it was moving away before I got usable photos..! |
