1cy bird. Vermiculated underside indicates the age, the pale base to the lower mandible less so, apparently also being a trait of [some] winter adults. I only saw the bird like this, why the wing pattern is of no help to support the aging. Saying this because I'm wondering if it really is possible that a first year bird can look this clean at this time of year. But I'm not able to find any information indicating that adults can show a completely vermiculated underside , why I have to trust the general knowledge on the subject... An early individual. |
