Sex, Age, Comment | Likely young female with the moderately but uniformly flecked throat. And definitely one of the small ones with cinnamon flanks. Too big and long-billed for a Bumblebee, wings too short for a Calliope. Probably well-fit for a Broad-tailed but the somewhat well-marked white breast collar and the strongly graduated tail feathers are indications of a young female Rufous/Allen's. Only saw the bird as in the photos why I'm ready to call this a tentative conclusion. | ||||||||||||
