One of the few birds to be found among the far more common chiffchaffs migrating through Denmark in large numbers right now. They move erratically through the foliage making them difficult to see well and separate, but this birds shows what you expect to see on a Willow: A long primary projection, and contrasting color between feet and leg. Legs here being diagnostically paler than those of the chiffchaff. Not so obvious from these photos is that willow normally appears more greenish yellow than the chiffs, and often has a more elongated appearance. |
