Female. The long forked tail, the gray breast and the short black bill make it unique in the area. No other has the long forked tail and female Mexican Woodnymph doesn't have the white ear-patch, Broad-billed female is larger with a longer bill and White-eared is more contrasting in the head with darker breast and square tail. Though photographed next to the hummingbird feeders it only visited the real flowers in the surroundings. |
