Adult bird hooting in the early morning. A medium large owl with a rather small head compared to the body. No ear-tufts, dark eyes, brown mottled upper chest combined with the streaked breast on whitish background is characteristic for this species. Both a pale and dark morph exist but the species is probably very variable, compare for example with 1966. One of the most common owls in Mexico. |
