Sex, Age, Comment | Adult with two young (pullus). The species normally performs asynchronous hatching meaning that the first chick will have an advantage over its younger siblings, if any. A strategy to make sure at least some offspring will succeed to fledge in years with scarce food supplies. 1 to 3 eggs is the normal. How big a time span there normally is between the chicks are being hatched, I'm not sure of, but apparently not much since the two chicks here look almost the same size. | ||||||||||||
