Sex, Age, Comment | Young male with the black throat. Normally a rather uniformly colored species golden-orange from top to the bottom, and without the dark line behind the eye as Bullocks has it. It also has a long narrow bill, but this can be difficult to judge correctly from photos. The species also has a long tail, which is can be perceived in these photos. Female colored orioles are notoriously difficult to identified, and especially if more species are present at once, as was the case this day, with both Orchards and Bullocks present too. Size and proportions are often more important to focus on than plumage details. | ||||||||||||
