Sex, Age, Comment | In molt, why the proportions can be difficult to judge. In the field I took it for an Acadian, mostly because of the call, but the photos clearly show that it is a Yellow-bellied: The round head, short bill, yellowish throat, shorter primary projection and general dark and yellowish colors are good indications. Cordilleran is quickly excluded because of the call, but the proportions are also wrong. Cordilleran showing more backtop and clearer teardrop behind the eye. Yellowish is also excluded by the call and by distribution. | ||||||||||||
