Sex, Age, Comment | Tentatively a young male. Young because the markings on the chest and underside seem too strong for an adult. Male because of the paler median coverts. The cere also seems rather pale indicating a young bird. Also one of the rarer species visiting the area. But perhaps also overlooked. I mean: This bird was present for like 15 seconds when it came in speeding down over the water to hunt. When it reached the beach it turned around and flew actively away inland and out of sight. | ||||||||||||
